There are so many things I could say to describe Donna Maxwell, but I'll start with friend. She changed my life. A long time ago we met, and I had always thought of her as quiet and mild mannered. (She's probably laughing so hard at that last statement.). Many would say that her husband, Dane, is outspoken enough for the both of them. However, a few years ago, I got the opportunity to know both of them better. Dane's sister and I had been friends forever, and I knew and loved all the Maxwells. The day came that Donna emailed me about a job....a big one. Donald Trump was going to run for president of the United States, and he needed a photographer for the south. "Do you want to be considered? Could you send us a bid?" Saying yes to her was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Not only did I get to photograph the President and his family, but I got to know her and see how amazing she really was. Some of my most favorite memories have her in them.

Behind every great man is an even greater woman. While Dane, her husband, was the Regional Political Coordinator, Donna Maxwell was the Volunteer Coordinator. She is responsible for organizing hundred upon hundred of volunteers as well as running ground game for multiple campaigns. It wasn't a glamorous job. Many times I'd check in to see her walking through snow handing out signs, or up in the middle of the night to make sure staffers got a ride home safely. Once in Jackson, MS, I'm pretty sure we saved the world, but that story will probably have to remain a secret between us. I can't wait to tell you all about the Donna Maxwell I've had the pleasure of knowing and learning about. She is definitely not the quiet, mild mannered, ladylike, arm candy I once thought she was. She is fierce. Beauty and grace describe her, but she is one of the strongest women I've ever known. This week I'll be showing video footage, images and stories about how she became the woman she is.
